Narrated two-minute launch film: citation-backed stories, interactive timelines, a heritage archive, moderated dialogue and source-grounded AI.

### About

A narrated 2-minute (1920x1080) launch film for TheCulturePost. It opens on the problem of unsourced, sensational culture content online, then walks through the product: stories where every claim links to a citation with a verification status, interactive timelines, the three movements (discover, discuss, contribute), the Heritage Archive for oral histories, manuscripts and artefacts with provenance and access levels, moderated cross-tradition discussion, and an AI that answers only from a story's numbered citations with editor sign-off. It closes on governed spaces for museums, schools and faith organisations and the call to action "Start free at theculturepost.com".

### Transcript

Screen recording of adding an oral-history interview citation, with excerpt and provenance, to a TheCulturePost story and moving the story from Idea to Draft.

### About

This demo shows TheCulturePost's citation-first editor. Starting from the story "The Suitcase Generation: What My Grandmother Packed in 1964" (created in the create-topic-and-story demo), the user adds its first source: a family oral-history interview with date, author, excerpt and provenance. New sources start as Unverified. The user then opens the Editorial tab and moves the story from Idea to Draft. It is a silent screen recording of the TheCulturePost web app (dark theme) with a browser screen-recorder toolbar visible. In the sequence it sits between the create-topic-and-story demo and the verify-story-citation demo.

### Transcript

No spoken audio — screen recording.

### Walkthrough

1. (0:00–0:06) The story page is open on the Citations tab ("Verifiable sources that ground this story"), which is empty: "No citations yet". The story is an Article in the Idea state under the topic Migration and Memory. The user clicks "Add citation".
2. (0:10–0:20) In the "Add citation" dialog ("Ground this story in the record with a verifiable source") the title "Oral history — grandmother's 1964 Jaffna departure (family recording)" is typed. Source type defaults to Web.
3. (0:30–0:45) Source type is changed to Interview, the published-on date is set to 07/24/2024, and the author is entered as "Family oral history (author's grandmother)".
4. (0:57–1:10) The publisher field is started and then left empty. The excerpt is entered: "She said the hardest choice was between the recipe book and a photograph of her parents."
5. (1:22–1:37) Provenance is filled in: "Recorded by the author, 2024; private family collection; shared with permission". The optional "Upload source scan" field is left empty, and a note says new sources start as Unverified and are reviewed for accuracy, relevance and cultural sensitivity before verification. The user clicks "Add citation".
6. (1:44–1:47) The Citations tab now shows the Interview card with the excerpt, provenance and a Verification picker (Corroborated, Disputed, Retracted, Unverified), plus a legend explaining each state. The tab counter reads "Citations 1".
7. (1:55) On the Editorial tab the lifecycle stepper (Idea, Draft, In Review, Published) shows the story at Idea.
8. (2:00–2:06) The story moves to Draft: the stepper marks Idea done, and the action becomes "Send to Review". The citations table below lists the source as Interview, added Oct 11, 2026, status Unverified, with a Verify menu.

Screen recording of curating a featured "Migration and Memory" topic in TheCulturePost and drafting a story under it with summary, body, language and tags.

### About

This demo shows the two first steps of TheCulturePost's editorial flow. A curator creates a featured topic, "Migration and Memory" (category Migration And Diaspora, tradition Tamil), then drafts the article "The Suitcase Generation: What My Grandmother Packed in 1964" and files it under that topic. It is a silent screen recording of the TheCulturePost web app (dark theme) with a browser screen-recorder toolbar visible at the bottom of the frame. It is the first of four demos that follow the same story: next come add-citation-to-story, verify-story-citation and review-and-publish-story.

### Transcript

No spoken audio — screen recording.

### Walkthrough

1. (0:00–0:35) The "Curate a topic" dialog ("Topics gather stories around a shared subject across culture, faith, history and heritage") is filled in. Name is "Migration and Memory", and the URL slug fills in automatically as `migration-and-memory`. Category is "Migration And Diaspora" and tradition is "Tamil". The description reads "How families carry language, recipes, and rituals across borders — and what changes, what survives, and what gets reinvented." "Feature this topic" is switched on so it appears on the home page.
2. (0:42) After "Create topic", the topic page shows "Migration and Memory" with Featured, Migration And Diaspora and Tamil badges, Unfeature / Edit / Archive / New story actions, and "Stories in this topic 0".
3. (0:49) The Stories page (filters All, Featured, Published, In Review, Draft, Idea, Archived, plus a topic picker) is empty: "No stories yet — Draft the first story — it enters the editorial lifecycle you can publish from." The user clicks "New story".
4. (1:02–1:30) The new-story form shows a cover image drop zone (16:9, min 1200x675) and fields for title, URL slug, format, reading time, topic, summary, body, languages and tags. The title "The Suitcase Generation: What My Grandmother Packed in 1964" is entered and the slug fills in automatically. Format stays "Article", reading time is set to 6 minutes, and the topic is "Migration and Memory".
5. (1:44) The summary is added (143/200 characters): "A Ceylon Tamil family leaves Jaffna with two suitcases. Decades later, their granddaughter opens one and finds out what 'home' actually weighs."
6. (1:58) A 515-character body is pasted in. It begins "When the ship left Jaffna in 1964, my grandmother was allowed two suitcases…"
7. (2:26–2:54) The language is set to English and the tags #migration, #tamil, #oral-history and #diaspora are added. Then the user clicks "Create story".
8. (3:07) The new story's page first shows "Story not found — This story may have been archived, or you may not have access" with a Retry button.
9. (3:13) After Retry, the story page loads. It shows the title, summary, Article / Idea / Migration and Memory badges, "By You · 6 min read · English", Save / Share / Edit actions, and Reading / Citations 0 / Editorial tabs. The body text, the four tags and an empty Citations panel ("No citations yet — Add verifiable sources to ground this story in the record") appear below.

Screen recording of marking an oral-history citation as Corroborated and moving a TheCulturePost story from In Review to Published through the editorial lifecycle.

### About

This demo continues from the add-citation and verify-story-citation demos and is the last step in the story sequence. The story "The Suitcase Generation: What My Grandmother Packed in 1964" is In Review with one citation, which gets verified before an editor publishes the story from the Editorial tab. It shows TheCulturePost's citation-first model in action: each source has a verification state and provenance, and stories move through Idea, Draft, In Review and Published. It is a silent screen recording of the TheCulturePost web app (dark theme) with a browser screen-recorder toolbar visible at the bottom of the frame.

### Transcript

No spoken audio — screen recording.

### Walkthrough

1. (0:00–0:03) On the Citations tab ("Verifiable sources that ground this story"), the single citation is shown. It is an Interview: "Oral history — grandmother's 1964 Jaffna departure (family recording)", a family oral history dated Jul 24, 2024, quoting "She said the hardest choice was between the recipe book and a photograph of her parents." Its provenance reads "Recorded by the author, 2024; private family collection; shared with permission". The verification state is set to "Corroborated". A legend below explains the four states: Corroborated, Disputed, Retracted and Unverified.
2. (0:08) The Editorial tab shows the Editorial lifecycle stepper (Idea, Draft, In Review, Published) with Idea and Draft done and In Review current. It offers "Publish" and "Send back to Draft" buttons and the note "Reviewed with fact and sensitivity care before publishing." The citations table below lists the source with status Corroborated and a Verify menu.
3. (0:13) The user clicks "Publish" and the buttons go to a busy state.
4. (0:18–0:23) The page briefly shows "Story not found" with a Retry button and a "Something went wrong. Please try again." toast.
5. (0:29–0:34) After Retry, the story loads with a "Published" badge. All four lifecycle steps are complete and the only action left is "Archive".
6. (0:38–0:42) Back on the Stories list, the "In Review" filter is selected and is now empty ("No stories match these filters").
7. (0:44–0:46) With the "Published" filter selected, the story card appears: Article · Published · Migration And Diaspora, "By You · 6 min read · English · just now".

Animated unboxing-parody spot: a family shoebox of photos, letters and a cassette becomes an oral history with access levels in TheCulturePost.

### About

A 57-second animated 16:9 ad styled as an unboxing video. Hands open a "DO NOT THROW OUT" shoebox and review each item (a photo marked "??? 1971", a coffee-stained letter, a cassette) while TheCulturePost book mascot asks "Ooh. Source?". The cassette's side B plays a grandfather's memory ("The night we arrived. Two suitcases, one umbrella..."), which is then uploaded as an oral history with narrator, language, transcript and Public / Community / Restricted / Embargoed access options. It ends on "Stories you can trace. Start free at theculturepost.com. Preserve before it fades." Burned-in captions are on screen.

Movie-trailer parody: an overconfident chatbot with zero sources meets TheCulturePost, where every claim links to a source and gets a verification status.

### About

A 58-second animated 16:9 ad in the style of a movie trailer ("One chatbot. Zero sources."). A sunglasses-wearing speech-bubble character answers every question with "Easy. Trust me." until TheCulturePost mascot asks "Ooh. Source?". The spot then shows a story where each cited claim carries a status (Unverified, Corroborated, Disputed, Retracted) and drafts go through fact and sensitivity review. The chatbot drops its sunglasses and goes off to find a source. End card: "Stories you can trace. Follow the footnote at theculturepost.com." Captions are burned in.

Lo-fi livestream parody: browsing stories by tradition, then a noisy chat calms down under threaded discussion with pinned context.

### About

A 49-second animated 16:9 ad styled as a "lo-fi footnotes to read & relax to" livestream. The screen shows TheCulturePost browsing stories by tradition, region, era and theme and saving one, while the stream chat descends into "WRONG / ACTUALLY / WELL ACTUALLY" spam. A threaded discussion with a pinned context note ("two families, two versions of the same bedtime story") and perspective-tagged replies calms things down; an unsourced "SOURCE: TRUST ME" gets flagged as Unverified. End card: "Understand, not argue. Stories you can trace. Explore at theculturepost.com." Mostly music with short voiceover lines.
